Why we developed the Chargeport

The idea for the bikespeed Chargeport didn't originate at a desk.

When several friends and acquaintances bought a 2026 Yamaha YZF-R125 or Yamaha MT-125, one seemingly simple question quickly came up:

How can I charge my phone while riding?

The answer turned out to be surprisingly difficult. We couldn't find a vehicle-specific plug&play solution. Even with many years of experience researching automotive connectors, identifying the correct OEM connectors on the motorcycle and verifying that they were suitable for supplying power was a time-consuming process. We then had to develop a reliable way to connect them to a USB-C Power Delivery charger.
For most motorcycle riders, this is practically impossible.

That's why we developed the bikespeed Chargeport: a vehicle-specific plug&play solution that can be installed quickly and easily, without making any modifications to the motorcycle's original wiring.
